i turn behind me to take comfort in you
but you were not there.
i cried and shouted
and called your name
my voice became hoarse
then i realized that that you
were right there
holding my hand
you had been there all along
i had only looked behind me
never right next to me
you had not left me
in my time of need
you had stepped up to my side
that's how i saw you
i really saw you
and i knew you would always be there
now i know that i will be ok
because your right there
next to me holding my hand
now, tomorrow and the day after
my problems are not fixed
but suddenly they seem more bearable
